Early morning, just before the rain, the wind and even the breeze stops for just a few moments and everything is still.
The fast spring growth has become the slow but steady development of a dense and impenetrable wall of green. The structure seems, over time, to have become less understandable, knowable. What is behind this green, knowable a few weeks ago, is secret now.
I have been taking images of the inside of this homemade greenhouse for several years. There is always something going on inside, constantly changing. Today, again, I am surprised by what I find. Both new and familiar. Today, the light hit the plastic walls differently than usual. Early morning, and the sun breaks through, even after a week of rain.

Read moreStill in Osaka, taking images, mostly between 4-5 am, empty streets, very quiet. There is a sense of waiting. Some “snack bars” have just closed and the owners are still cleaning up. Garbage trucks are always out at this time. Parking lots are usually empty but in some parts of town there are multiple cars parked as residents have no where to leave their vehicles. No one walking by looks at us or plays an attention as they would elsewhere. Dawn comes with a purple and pinkish sky at one end of the city and at the other a light blue appears.
Upon arrival in Osaka, on my way to elsewhere, I ran into this window with a mirror. I took this image with my iPhone.
