A small hill being removed near the Oxbow of the Connecticut River. As a teenager, I drove by this quarry a few times a week. What is now sky was, then, all hill and woodlands. Little of the hill is left and the rocks are now being dug out of the ground, as time goes on forming a hole similar to the hill that once stood here.
A slight change, overlooking the Columbia River Valley reminds me of The Oxbow, where I grew up spending both my childhood and teen years before leaving for New York.
A few images that I payed little attention to in my forest series ar still waiting to be edited. Often trees present themselves along the pathway like this, showing the difficulty the tree has reaching the light. Heavy winter snows also play a part in this.
